Planning Permission Granted
6 Jun 2025

We are delighted to share the wonderful news that on 5 June 2025, Camden Council granted planning permission for the redevelopment of King’s Cross Methodist Church (KCMC). This is a landmark moment — the most significant opportunity to renew and transform our church building in over a century.
For more than 200 years, KCMC has been a beacon of faith, welcome, and hope at the heart of London. With God’s faithful guidance and with the prayers and support of West London Mission, our Church Council, congregation members, neighbours, and friends, we have now taken a vital step forward.
This is a unique, once-in-a-century opportunity to re-envision how our church can bless London — not only as an iconic landmark at the city’s heart, but as a vibrant sanctuary inviting all who pass by, visit, or call this city home.
This redevelopment will allow us to build a modern, sustainable, and fully accessible church. It will be a vibrant, inclusive space where worship, community life, student accommodation, and outreach combine to serve King’s Cross and beyond for generations to come.
We thank God for this blessing and invite you to continue praying with us as we move forward in faith and hope together.
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” — Hebrews 10:23
